When I heard that this week's Summer of Color colors were purple+purple+yellow, an image of a hippo with a bird on its head immediately came to mind. Sometimes when you get an idea, you just have to run with it...
Well, I ran with it! And boy, did I run wild...
It turned into another stream-of-consciousness-type theme...
I am still having a blast playing with the water soluble markers that I talked about in my last post!
(I hope next week's colors lead to as much fun...)

And you did the challenge superbly!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThat hippo reminded me of something else pretty cool. Do you remember the Boynton stuff - cute mugs and shirts with cute critters? I bought a mug for a friend's birthday that had the appropriate animals on it as well as new lyrics for the birthday song:
"Hippo birdies two ewes,
hippo birdies two ewes,
hippo birdies God bless you,
hippo birdies two ewes."
fabulous projects!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic and fun SOC projects, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch fun pieces - I love them!
ReplyDeleteJust love the way your brain works - there is no color combination in the world that would immediately bring the picture of a hippo with a bird on his head to my mind - that's why I love your blog!

ReplyDeleteYou would love Somerset Studio's With One Palette challenge! The artists create several pieces of artwork using the same handful of colors in each piece. It's an interesting way to create unique pieces of artwork that also have some cohesion. You can check it out here: Somerset Studio.
