A larger, more developed version of the thumbnail sketch from last week.
(Drawn in... Photoshop! Yay!)

2018: 81/365

A new thumbnail...
I was playing with new ideas and fresh perspectives today.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but I think I like this one better!

2018: 80/365

I re-drew yesterday's thumbnail a little bit larger
and started tinkering with placement and sizes. BUT...
While I was working on it, I decided that the overall composition
was just okay... a little boring, if I'm being completely honest.
So, tomorrow I think I'm going to see if I can come up with something better... Stay tuned!

The mirror image of 3.14 is PI.E.
Coincidence?
I think not.

Happy Pi Day!

In honor of my sister Stevie's birthday, I thought I would take a break from the puzzle pieces to share a painting that I did of her a while back
(but never posted).

2018: 69. 70 & 71/365

Altered Puzzle Pieces 4, 5, and 6.

4:  Thinking about the amazing Margaret Atwood talk I attended on
Friday night (and "The Handbag's Tale")

5:  Inspired by MY favorite handbag that was created by the very, VERY talented Liz Potter of Bolsa Bonita.  I receive SO many compliments about the bags she makes... They're real conversation starters!
(She also made the squirrel bag I shared a couple of months ago.)

6:  In honor of International Fanny Pack Day!  Now, if only Liz Potter would start making fanny packs... That would be AWESOME!!!

2018: 68/365

Today's puzzle piece was created in honor of Paint Party Friday's Birthday!
(I think I may have gotten a little carried away with the bead embellishments!)
It's hard to believe that EVA & I have been hosting PPF for all this time...
Thanks for 7 fun & creative years, partner!

2018: 67/365

Today's puzzle piece was inspired by a conversation I had with my sister this morning.  (The number on the back of this randomly picked piece is 155.)

2018: 66/365

I have been wanting to make an altered puzzle for a while,
and since T-man & I finished up the 300 piece doughnut puzzle yesterday,
today seemed like the perfect day to get started!

I started by applying gesso to the puzzle.  Then, I flipped the puzzle over and numbered the pieces so I would be able to put it back together again.

I separated the pieces and put them in the box so that I could randomly choose pieces to work on.

This is my first piece.
(If I alter one piece per day, I will finish on December 31st.)

My little guy was home sick today, so in between naps he helped me finish the puzzle I had started for a new project.

2018: 64/365

(Or tomorrow...)

I am currently trying to teach myself how to paint using Photoshop.
I am also still trying to figure out how to create a blog post from my phone.
Technology is winning today.  But...
There’s always tomorrow!

2018: 62 & 63

While doing some cleaning this weekend, I came across the very first picture book I ever made!  It was only as big as a quarter, but it was the perfect size for the Sesame Street characters that I made it for!

2018: 61/365

Yesterday afternoon, from this same window, I could see the grass.
But... To be completely honest, by Buffalo standards this really isn't that bad.
Or, in the famous words of one of my favorite children's books
from when I was little...

(That's me on the left.)
