Index Cards 1 through 61!
Well, I did it... I completed Daisy Yellow's Index Card Challenge... Wheee! It was certainly fun, but toward the end I may have been getting a little punch drunk, which is why the following cards are definitely...
ICAD #54: July 24th, 2012
"Corny"
Corny!!!
(Proceed with caution, and consider yourself warned.)
ICAD #55: July 25th, 2012
"Creativi Tea"
ICAD #56: July 26th, 2012
"Liber Tea"
ICAD #57: July 27th, 2012
"Dir Tea"
ICAD #58: July 28th, 2012
"Par Tea"
ICAD #59: July 29th, 2012
"Hoo Tea"
ICAD #60: July 30th, 2012
"Royal Tea"
It turns out that my friend, Tracey, is not the only one who has succumbed to tea induced madness! I could keep going... But, for my final card, I decided to carve a stamp instead:
ICAD #61 (Sort of!): July 31st, 2012
"Thank Ewe"
This is what my final card was supposed to look like.
And, this is what it actually looks like:
Well, all I can say is that my heart was in the right place... Unfortunately, my head was not!
This was meant to be a thank you card for Tammy at Daisy Yellow for hosting such an inspiring challenge. While the sentiment remains the same, it has also become a cautionary illustration...
Think before you carve!
(In case you missed any of my previous cards, you can find them all here.)
I'm impressed at your dedication! I've really enjoyed following along. Even the corny ones :)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! this fantastic display of talent fits you to a tea. (sorry) :^)
ReplyDeletekristin, this is so damn fun! everything together is such a great collage. and your crazy mind having so much fun. i love the way you think!
and the stamp. oh dear god! it is so good, so very good, that the fact that it's not right is kind of hilarious. i'm glad that you shared it, because your 'mistake' is to darling not to share.
i'm glad you are having yourself some fun.
love
kj
make that 'too darling.'
ReplyDeletei can't be having it suspected that i don't know how to spell.
(grin)
Hilarious, all of them, just fantastic. I laughed out loud at the mirrored letters. Isn't it odd how you can know these things and yet not think about them at all while working? I once made an absolutely gorgeous spread in an absolutely perfect handmade journal (by me). I was so proud of me until I finished and found out I'd done the entire spread upside down!
ReplyDeleteAn absolute delight from beginning to end. Loved every index card, all 61 of them. The tea bags really made me grin. I'll never look at a tea bag again without thinking of these. ;0}
ReplyDeleteWow; those were amazing. What a talented girl!
ReplyDeleteNancy
What a fun post....too bad about the KNAHT!
ReplyDeleteAwesome tea bag art. I love the owl - I actually didn't even think that one was a tea bag until I looked closer. And thanks as well for the reminder about carving stamps! I can easily imagine myself doing the exact same thing if I wasn't careful.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I saw your "thank you"! So easy to do, in fact how would you carve it backwards! i guess print it and reverse it and copy that! I love all your cute "tea" bag buddies. Very clever.
ReplyDeletelaughing until I cry over your index cards. and seeing your 61 cards reminded me that I have not even acknowledged the awesome dog butt postcard. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. well, I'll try to tell you. on something I mail. I've done a backwards carve before, too. sigh.
ReplyDeleteLove the owl teabag, and you really did a great job carving, too bad about it being backward! We do learn as we go!
ReplyDeleteThe teabag art cracked me up and I made Phantom and Sinus come and look and family hilarity ensued... you share our sense of humour and Phantom things you are the Queen of Corn!!!!! thinking I may need to base an artwork on you at some stage...
ReplyDeleteas to the non reversed Thanks many moons ago I forgot to inform a whole class of year 8's to reverse their writing on their lino blocks and we had a whole class of superhero words, like Pow and Bam backwards for the school art show... saved the day by handing out mirrors and telling everyone it was only possible to see superhero writing with the magic glass... fooled no one I am sure, but it saved the day....xx
I've thoroughly enjoyed all your index cards but these last ones definitely are my faves. (I have a geeky love for plays on words....hmmmm or is it...word plays??? Anyhoo, I'm sure you know what I mean.)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making it to the end!
