Yesterday, I shared my creative to-do list. Today, I thought I'd share something that is at the very top of my wishlist...
My very, VERY favorite drawing book of all time is Carla's first book, Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists. I truly believe that art schools around the world would benefit from adding it to their
required reading lists.
For the past two weeks Carla has been celebrating her new book launch with giveaways and tutorials. On day 11, she posted a blob hunting drawing assignment that was just too much fun to pass up!
I grabbed my sketchbook and headed outside in search of interesting shapes...
I welcome any opportunity to "see" things!
p.s. It's "Blogtoberfest" and I'm posting everyday...
Please be sure to come back tomorrow!
Love your Elephant and Snail!! I've put this book on my wish list too :0)
ReplyDeleteI have Carla's Drawing Lab and find it inspirational and fun. My favourite in the book was the 100 faces, which really challenged me.
ReplyDeleteThe new book is on my Christmas wish list. Agree about the art schools and this book.
Love your elephant and snail. Perhaps you were a circus performer in a previous life ... Or an entomologist. ( I think that's the word).
You say about always seeing elephants - coincidentally I have an elephant on my current blogpost!
ReplyDeletethat is one of the cutest blobs i've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with Blob the Elephant! I had Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists, but sadly I traded it in for book credit. Now I REALLY want it back. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that book as well... and it should be on the curriculum everywhere I think... this blogtoberfest things is great as we are getting lots of you which is bonus... and I forgot to say the other day that I loved your interview for PPF...xx
