A Love-ly Tree

This week's theme for Creative Tuesday over at Mr.Toast's blog is "trees".

"A Love-ly Tree" was painted with acrylics and prismacolor pencils on black gesso. It is art and a frame all in one... It was painted on museum quality mat board and the painting continues onto the wood frame.  I am having such fun painting on different surfaces!

(This original painting is available here sold.)

  5. Kristin, your drawings, paintings and illustrations never fail to make me smile. I think it's your strong sense of color. This one makes me think it belongs in the Queen of Hearts' garden, along with her roses.

  22. This tree is so pretty! I love how the leaves are hearts, taking you a moment to realize the next level of the illo. That's one of my favorite thing about drawing trees-- the leaves, and the grain of the wood, can be drawn in ways to have hidden designs, shapes, faces, or what have you. Great job!
