A sneak peek at my work in progress.
One of the paintings I've been working on this week was inspired by the "masks" theme over at The Butterfly Effect.
The very first thing that popped into my head when I read the theme was "raccoon", my next thought was "masquerade ball". So I figured, "Hey, why not combine the two?" (It's probably not much of a shock since I seem to be a wee bit obsessed with creating anthropomorphic animals! Ha!)
This work in progress is approximately 21'' x 27.5". I started by attaching fabric to an old cabinet door (another shocker!), then painting on top of that...
Happy PPF!
This is wonderful! We had a mask theme in two of my other groups and if this had been entered it would have won for sure.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHH I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Kristin. I can not wait to see how you finish it up:D I could honestly never quite get into painting on cavas BUT painting on fabric, now that is kind of an addiction of mine, ha ha the feel is so lovely somehow.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooo adorable! Now, why doesn't that surprise me? I love all your work!
ReplyDeleteCool idea about the fabric. Did you prep the canvas with clear gesso or? Love your raccoon & the colors!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Such a fabulous painting and idea. The eyes are so thoughtful. Well done for painting on fabric on a door, this would be too much out of my comfort zone, mind you I probably would never have thought of it either.
