Paint Party Friday (Week 33) + The Butterfly Effect = Surreal Art!

"Cinderelephant"

acrylic on fabric (attached to an old cupboard door)

(Not the best photo - it's been dark and snowing!)

My inspiration for this week's PPF painting came from the surrealism theme over at The Butterfly Effect.

As I was thinking about that theme, I came across a sketchbook page I shared way back in February (you can see it here).  The itty-bitty Cinderelephant at the bottom of that page led to a new stream of consciousness drawing...


Because there aren't many things more surreal than an elephant who prances around in glass slippers!

    i love these elephants-such warm smiling eyes in the first painting and I love the surreallism in the second one-even got the halloween pumpkin involved! you are one of the most imaginative people i know!

    That puts the hugest smile on my face. She is fabulous. I had snow last night too. I'm trying to not let it get me down. At least the bare trees and reflective snow bring a lot more light through my tiny studio window. (I'm hanging onto that silver lining as we head into another long dark winter).     I just thought of a request ... any way you could work a monkey into a drawing? My middle son loves them ... he and Caleb could fight over teh computer to see your drawings then!

    Sweetest little Elephant! I love a girl with great shoes. Snow already?! Sheesh! I remember when I was living in upstate NY in college and it snowed from Oct to April! Hopefully, you'll get some Indian summer back.
