If You're Not Careful...

A gurn-tastic combination of a quick one liner and contour drawing

...Your face might freeze that way!

This week I've been warming up with some
wonderfully wacky one liners.
And, in my internet travels I learned a new word:

gurn: a distorted facial expression

  3. your lovely one-liners remind me of alexander calder's wire sketches.. it would be awesome to see these in 3D! I especially like the cross-eyed, lolling tongue :P

  5. My mum used to say that to us. So we used to make even worse faces .... But there was always a secret worry that the wind might change and we would be stuck like that for ever. Love your one- liners. Good to start the day with a smile.

  12. I love one-liners...always so much character in them I think. And I LOVE that word. Gurn. And my Mum always said your face only stayed that way if the wind changed!! :) I haven't thought about that for years.

  15. How funny! I love the word gurn - they even have gurning competitions where folk pull the weirdest faces (it helps if they have denture that they can remove to make them even gummier!)

    Love these one line drawings!

  16. I saw this right before I went to lunch today to Taco Jalisco's where I go to draw (and eat)...I decided to try one liners or contour drawing today for a change after seeing yours. It was fun. Carlos was working and he noticed and remarked! He liked the contours too. (he's an artist!)
