Tutorial Try-Out: DIY Paint By Numbers

This week's tutorial try-out was:

For this tutorial, I decided to do a funky self-portrait.  I started with a photo that I use as my facebook, instagram, pinterest, goodreads (etc....) profile pic.  (You can also see it tucked into the lower right corner of my blog header.)

It's a pretty goofy photo to start with, so it really wasn't a surprise that I ended up looking like a clown trapped in a lava lamp!

The results were fun, the technique was easy...
All-in-all, I'd say it was a great way to finish off Tutorial Try-Outs!

Did you try this tutorial?
If so, please link up below.
(I can't wait to see!)

  1. Great pop art look -- and I've always loved that mustache!

  2. i think you should dye your hair red purple (not blue, blue is too old) :^)

you have 445 followers? holy moley!

    i'm glad i'm among them :^)

  3. I love this! And the fact you chose different colors. I like your idea more than the original. :)

  4. LOVE IT!!! you are adorable!

  5. Enjoyed this one, and didn't have to struggle, so a good one to close this session with. Hope you'm be back with TutTues later this year.

  6. hi Kristin, what a fun art with the mustache! Love the pop art!

BTW, for some reason about 1/3 of the PPF artists have gone back to the word verification, which sure slows down the commenting. Also, some feel like if they just answer on their own blog the comment you've left, that they have"visited" but they haven't. It doesn't show up as a comment on your blog. I'm sure I have missed a lot of responses because I don't usually revisit blogs I have been to.

Hi! I love and appreciate all of your comments! I turned off the word verification so please don't leave me spam. Thanks!
