Happy Gnu Year!
I figured I had just enough time to squeeze in a little more silliness before the end of 2010. I couldn't help myself... Oh how I love to play with words!
I also thought this would be the perfect time to write out my creative goals for 2011. I don't know about you, but I always feel like writing something down makes it more real... more official. So, in the spirit of keeping myself on track in the coming year, here goes...
2011 Creative Goals
- work on, finish up, and mail out The Sketchbook Project (this is at the very top of my list because the deadline is January 15th!)
- learn how to sew
- build a website
- take more photographs and learn more about Photoshop
- attend more life drawing sessions with Stevie
- work in my sketchbook daily (even if it's only 10 minutes!)
- paint at least 52 new paintings
- finally create the children's book dummy that has been kicking around in my head for so many years
- submit to a creative magazine
- submit a t-shirt design to Threadless
- update my etsy shop with new artwork often
- look into selling my work at local art fairs, shops, and galleries
- create more edible art
- keep having fun!
Lots to do, but I have a whole year to do it!
What are some of your goals for 2011?
Loving the Gnu ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow what a list of goals for 2011! I like the idea of keeping a sketchbook for doodling etc. in fact that sounds like a good excuse to buy a new Moleskine and try it out.
Have a Happy New Year and I look forward to following some of your paths to your goals on here next year.

Happy GNU year to you and yours!!! You have made my day with this imagine and message. Snowflake kisses for everyone! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteKristin - happy gnu year to you...love the gnu...so cute! I know I want to make a list of goals but haven't sat with myself to figure them out yet. Wishing you a year that exceeds your expectations!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristin, Happy GNU year to you too! Fun! Nicely drawn; I particularly like how you did everything in graphite except the hat. Festive. Congrats on your goals!
ReplyDeletelol My Dad will love this!! He's always singing the gnu song!
ReplyDeleteHappy Gnu Year to You, Kristin!!
I share some of your goals with a high short term priority on #1! After now completing CED2010 with 5 books of daily creations I think I want to work on bigger things like paintings and art journals.
We should create a group like Sunday sketching for painting. Though weekly seems a bit of a stretch. The check-ins make such a difference for me to actually accomplish things. Do they for you?
And writing things done or posting them is huge in accomplishing goals!!
Best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous and creative 2011!!
xoxo EVA
Happy Gnu year to you! Fab drawing and play on words! Will you post photos of your finished sketchbook project, I'd love to see it. I sent my sketchbook on the 29th as coming from England I didn't know how long it would take to get there! You have a good achievable list of goals for next year x

ReplyDeleteGood for you! That's a big list, but looks manageable. I think your art would be beautiful in a children's book. That's a wonderful goal. Good luck.
