"Art" means many things to many people, is created in many mediums, and is made for many reasons... I have to admit that the limitlessness of this theme made me a little bit nervous. In the end, I just decided to lighten up, play, and create some art for art's sake.
Speaking of art, the very talented artist Jenny Blair is having a very generous "Giveaway of Goodness" over at her "love and peas" blog. (Don't you just love that name?!?)
And speaking of generosity (and art), the amazing Tam (a.k.a. Willowing) is hosting a free (yes, free) art course on her ning network. If you haven't already checked out her site and beautiful artwork make sure to stop by and show her a little blog love... and while you're there be sure to sign up for her fantastic-sounding course "Art, Heart & Healing"
Thanks so much for stopping by Kristin....
ReplyDeleteI love the fun you had with your creativity. Your pictures just makes me feel happy. I love Happy Art...The colors, the patterns.. very nice.
Kristin,
ReplyDeleteA wonderful word...and a beautiful piece of ART, here. I like where you took the theme...and I always love seeing your happy artwork. Really, you have such a bright outlook, it radiates through your blog...
The zentangles look like such fun, too.

Ooh, Im going to look into both of those Kristin. thanks! and yes, yours is a fine entry just as is and is in fact similar to something I had considered but didn't want to take the time to explore! So god job sticking with it. This will be fun to add to the montage.
ReplyDeleteArt for art's sake...I like it!
ReplyDeleteHey Kristin, Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog, I was very down about that opportunity that fell through but yourself and other lovely blog friends really helped me to realise that the right thing will come along and that it is worth me to keep with this creative path, just because it makes me happy :0) I'm feeling much better now!!! THanks again and love this new piece, I think it really captures that word perfectly :0)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great "art" piece! I love the fact that you played and had some fun AND came up with a brilliant piece!...Definitely what it's all about! THANKYOU so much for the massive shout out about my giveaway :) You are really TOOOOOOO sweet! (and of course get a double entry!)
ReplyDeleteAnd thankyou for your lovely comments as always...never fails to make me smile :) *big hugs*
I love art for art´s sake pieces and this one is grand!!! Love it!...also those buffs that fly are really coooool too:)
ReplyDeleteoh wow Kristin you are really talented. I could look at this piece for a long time...I love patterns. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you mixed textures, colors, and mediums for your piece. Neat how they are all so unique and yet belong together! And I have to admit that the freedom "art" gave was a bit overwhelming for me too! Have a fantastic day!
ReplyDeleteI love the textural feel of this piece, and the mix of designs. Nicely balanced and eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteI did have a look at Tam's course. I'm a new member over there. Unfortunately, I think I will sit this one out as I'm pretty well loaded with stuff already and it doesn't quite go in the direction I'd like to take right now. I will miss out on the whole meeting new people and working along together, though. That is always fun. How are you doing with Silly? I've fallen behind, but it has given me what I needed and I'm off on my own little adventure :D Hope you're still having fun :D
Thanks for the heads up and for dropping by my blog :D It is always nice to see you.
Nutty

Love your "Art", thanks for the links I will check them out but I think I am too busy to join in yet another activity. Maybe when my house is done.

ReplyDeleteCan you hang it is your studio?
I love, love, love pen/ink line art mixed with color. You do it well and have an extraordinary color sense.
