Another Paint Party Friday means it's time for a...
"Shellebration" 2.5x3.5 ACEO
(Hee hee! I just couldn't help myself!)
"Patchwork Turtle" 2.5x3.5 ACEO
I was so inspired by last week's Paint Party Friday... Quite a few of the partiers created ACEOs and mini paintings. Since I don't normally work so small, I was definitely intrigued. I started by doing one of my reverse paintings. (It's definitely a challenge at this size!)
"Turtle Universe" 2.5x3.5 ACEO
If you read my last post, you know I've been working with a turtle theme. Well, I guess I wasn't quite ready to give that up just yet - I've been having too much fun learning more about them. Some cultures believe that the turtle carries the world upon it's back...
"Flying Sea Turtle" 2.5x3.5 ACEO
And I was fascinated by the way sea turtles look as though they're flying through the water.
"Floating Turtle" 2.5x3.5 ACEO
It's time for me to take off... I've got a party to go to.
I hope to see you there!
p.s. I just had to share:
You might remember the fabulous fortune cookie that Heather Stillufsen shared at last weeks party? Well...I bought it!
It arrived today with the fantastic "Paint Party Today" illustration she also did last week! What a wonderfully thoughtful and amazing gift... Thank you Heather!!!
To say I am thrilled is a huge understatement!
(I'm a big believer in supporting other artists by buying their work when I'm able to... Look for a post soon that showcases art I've recently purchased.)
Wow, that's a lot of great work you have there. I love the look and they are so small. Lots of detail. The "Floating Turtle" is so darling. Beautiful work, thank you.ReplyDelete
Such lovely turtles. I love all the colors and how each one is cute. Wonderful. ~TheresaReplyDelete
You've been a busy girl! I love Shellebration! The flying sea turtle is my favorite, I love his little expression.ReplyDelete
I'm loving all your turtles, but the flying sea turtle definitely is my favorite. Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. ;)ReplyDelete
Visiting from the paint party website and just had to comment about your lovely turtle art. I LOVE turtles...since I was a teen...something about going at your own pace and that slow is not a bad thing. Not to mention home on your back and having a place of refuge...haha...many things. Great artwork and will have to join in on the paint party!ReplyDelete
The sea turtle is my fave too - such fun seeing her fly in the clouds, very clever!ReplyDelete
These are adorable! I especially love the patchwork and floating turtles! Brilliant!ReplyDelete
Fantastic turtles. I too have heard of those cultures who believe that a turtle carries the world on its back :)ReplyDelete
Hello ... I like them all but my favorite the one that bears the world on his back .... very funny and genials your turtles. GreetingsReplyDelete

Wow Kristin! You really have't had enough of turtles yet, have you? - And they are all so different from your mural and each other. What versatility! I love them all! And even more impressed that they are so detailed and yet ACEO sizeReplyDelete
FUN and whimsical Kristin! Happy smiles here:)ReplyDelete
They do look like fun! Love the turtles!ReplyDelete
I paint miniatures a lot and yes, they are way more challenging sometimes than larger pieces, but your turtles, well they are just fantastic. I love the one that is flying through the water! :-)ReplyDelete
Beautiful- I love turtles too! And I also love the variety of these pieces, for me, ATC's are much harder to do because they're so small- so I appluad the size as well as the quality!ReplyDelete
Kristen what a lovely post today, fabulous turtles all of them. Shellebration, lol.ReplyDelete
What a kick!! Love the vibrant colors you used in your turtle paintings. They're all amazing.ReplyDelete
Oh, these are all adorable! And to work so small is quite a challenge. My favorite is the patchwork turtle. :)ReplyDelete
Beautiful job! I don't know which turtle I like best, but I'm leaning towards the one with the world on his back. Very cool! You are an inspiration, and I remember the fortune cookie, which is sweet and creative. Enjoy your new painting...and have fun at the party!ReplyDelete
You make me smile and giggle! I love your "Shellebrations." Happy Friday to you!ReplyDelete
Adorable AND prolific! My vote's for the Patchwork Turtle as well. I just love the colors. But, they're all amazingly well done! Happy Paint Party Friday!ReplyDelete

Turtle Heaven! Shellabration, LOL! I love them all, especially #2. I am a art junkie too. Everytime I sell something, I am off to etsy :)ReplyDelete
Happy weekend Kristen, xox
Great turtles, Kristin! Careful, ACEOs are addictive, LOL!! KathrynReplyDelete
Your paintings make me so happy! I love Honu's (that's turtle in Hawaiian if by chance you didn't know) Funny that you were working small this time, me too. I don't normally paint anything smaller than 16x20 but I thought it would be fun to try some 5x7's and they went so fast. I think I'm hooked!ReplyDelete
I love the turtles! Your style is so original and vibrant in each one. Great little ACEO collection you've created, especially for someone who doesn't usually paint small! I just recently discovered ACEOs and I am so thrilled to finally be able to finish a painting in one sitting (or even more than one).ReplyDelete
I love your turtles! They are all so different! You amaze me.ReplyDelete
What a great piece you got from Heather. It is adorable.
This is so fun Kristin! I love looking at everyones art. Old and new friends. xxoo
I think my favorite is the 2nd one: the patchwork turtle. but they're all really cool!ReplyDelete
The all so great! My favourite is turtle universe, he looks so wise and knowledgable.ReplyDelete
These are all wonderful! I particularly like the one with the weight of the world on it's back.ReplyDelete
